On the menu: Desert blues, hip hop and spooky women
Inspired by the blues show on WEFT right before our show, we just had to start with a collaboration between Bonnie Raitt (!) and Habib Koité, famous blues guitarist from Mali. Then we enjoyed some more desert blues from western Africa, some North African rythms, and continued with a set on contemporary rap music (not so politically uninteresting...). In the second hour, we indulged in some music by up-and-coming women artists who don't shy away from spooky sounds, such as Emily Simon and Camille, and brought you a final course of Haitian music by Emeline Michel and Mika. Enjoy this tasty stew...
